24 May 2022: Creation of an inflation-linked Green OAT€i

As mentioned in the 2022 State financing programme published in December 2021, Agence France Tresor announces the creation of a Green OAT linked to the European harmonised index of consumer prices (excluding tobacco): OAT€i 25 July 2038. This new green bond, whose details will be announced later on, will be issued by syndication in the following days, depending on market conditions.

The joint lead managers will be Barclays, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Natixis and Société Générale. All primary dealers (SVT) will be part of the syndicate.

This new bond will be reopened afterwards, according to market demand and in order to ensure its liquidity. In addition, AFT will continue to tap its two nominal green bonds, OAT 1.75% 25 June 2039, whose outstanding amount currently stands at €30.9 billion, and the OAT 0.50% 25 June 2044, whose outstanding currently stands at €14.2 billion, in response to investor demand. All of these issues for 2021 will be within the limit of the amount of Green Eligible Expenditures which amounts to €15 billion as specified on January 24 of this year.

This bond will follow the same framework document as the previous Green OATs, to which an annex has been added to take into account the specificities of this new product.
